Florida continues to be a hotspot of real estate activity, as one Miami-Dade beachfront estate shows. The home in Golden Beach is currently listed at $100 million, and stands to be the county’s most expensive deal—if it sells.
Golden sands: Craig Electronics founder Joel Newman owned the 32,000 square foot property with his wife for nearly four decades until his death earlier this year. The house boasts 250 feet of direct seafront access and was planned to host several major renovation projects, including the addition of a poolside guest house, before Newman’s death.
From the horse’s mouth: “Is $100 million a lot of money? Yes,” said Ryan Serhant, one of the property’s listing agents. “But this is a $300 million property in Palm Beach—potentially more.”
By the numbers: Golden Beach is no stranger to golden-ticket deals, with Tommy Hilfiger and his wife selling their home in the area last year to the tune of $28 million. However, that deal pales in comparison to the Newman home, which would be the most expensive property trade made in Miami-Dade county if it sells even close to asking price.
